This peanut butter protein shake is my favorite way to refuel after a busy morning. It hits that perfect balance of nutty flavor and creaminess that makes it feel like a real treat, even though it is packed with protein.

I love keeping this recipe simple by using frozen banana slices to get that thick, milkshake texture without needing extra ice. If you want an extra boost, a tiny pinch of sea salt really makes the peanut butter flavor pop.

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana, sliced
  • 1 scoop chocolate or vanilla protein powder
  • 2 tablespoons natural peanut butter
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds, optional

Instructions

  1. 1

Add the frozen banana, protein powder, peanut butter, and almond milk into your blender.

  2. 2

Blend everything on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy.

  3. 3

Add the ice cubes and continue to blend until you reach your desired thickness.

  4. 4

Pour the shake into a tall glass and top with a sprinkle of chia seeds if you are using them.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

If you want a thicker shake, use a frozen banana that has been peeled before freezing. You can store any leftovers in the fridge for a few hours, but it is best enjoyed immediately after blending. Add a handful of spinach if you want to sneak some greens into your breakfast.
