Making your own protein bars at home is so much easier than you might think. Since you do not need to turn on the oven or use the stove, they are perfect for a busy week when you want a healthy snack on hand.

I love keeping these in the fridge for a quick breakfast on the go or a midday pick me up. They stay fresh for a long time, so you can make a big batch at once and be set for the whole week.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup vanilla protein powder
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. 1

Line a square baking dish with parchment paper to keep the bars from sticking.

  2. 2

In a large bowl, mix the oats, protein powder, and chia seeds together.

  3. 3

Add the peanut butter, honey, and water to the bowl, then stir everything until it is well combined.

  4. 4

    Fold in the chocolate chips.

  5. 5

Press the mixture firmly into your prepared baking dish until it is level.

  6. 6

Place the dish in the fridge for about one hour so the bars can firm up.

  7. 7

Remove the mixture from the dish and cut it into bars using a sharp knife.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store these bars in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks. You can also wrap them individually in plastic wrap and freeze them for up to three months if you want them to last longer.
