If you love that classic cereal snack with peanut butter and chocolate, you are going to adore this version. Swapping out the cereal for fresh popcorn makes it lighter and gives it a wonderful crunch that is perfect for movie nights or parties.

My biggest tip for this recipe is to make sure your popcorn is completely cooled before you add the chocolate. If it is still warm, the coating might get a little soggy, and we want to keep things nice and crispy.

Ingredients

  • 8 cups popped popcorn, kernels removed
  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. 1

Place your popped popcorn into a large mixing bowl and set it aside.

  2. 2

Combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter in a microwave safe bowl.

  3. 3

Heat the mixture in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until it is smooth and melted.

  4. 4

Stir the vanilla extract into the chocolate mixture.

  5. 5

Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the popcorn and use a spatula to toss everything gently until the kernels are well coated.

  6. 6

Add the powdered sugar to the bowl and toss again until the popcorn is evenly coated in white sugar.

  7. 7

Spread the mixture out on a baking sheet to let it cool and set before serving.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature to keep the crunch. You can add a pinch of sea salt on top to balance out the sweetness if you like a salty kick.
