When the week gets busy, I love having a recipe that practically cooks itself. This crockpot pasta is one of my favorite go to meals because it saves so much time in the kitchen without sacrificing any flavor.

Most people love this dish because it is warm, hearty, and very easy to cleanup. My top tip is to add a little extra parmesan cheese right before serving to give it a nice salty kick.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound penne pasta
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. 1

Grease the inside of your slow cooker with a little bit of olive oil or non stick spray.

  2. 2

Add the dry pasta, marinara sauce, broth, oregano, and garlic powder into the crockpot.

  3. 3

Stir everything together until the pasta is well coated in the sauce and liquid.

  4. 4

Cover and cook on high for about 90 minutes or until the pasta is tender.

  5. 5

Stir in the mozzarella and parmesan cheese until they are melted and bubbly.

  6. 6

Serve warm in bowls with an extra sprinkle of cheese if you like.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can reheat individual portions in the microwave with a splash of water to keep the noodles from getting too dry.
