If you love the combination of rich chocolate and smooth peanut butter, this cookie is going to become a fast favorite in your house. It brings together the chewy, fudgy center of a brownie with the iconic flavor of a classic buckeye candy.

I love making these for parties because they look so impressive on a dessert tray. My best tip is to make sure your peanut butter dough is chilled before you roll it, as that makes the process much less sticky and much more fun.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 2

In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

  3. 3

In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.

  4. 4

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth, then slowly stir in the dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.

  5. 5

Scoop tablespoon sized balls of dough onto your prepared baking sheet and flatten them slightly with your thumb to create a small indentation in the center.

  6. 6

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, then let them cool completely on the tray.

  7. 7

While the cookies cool, mix the peanut butter and powdered sugar together until smooth, then roll into small balls.

  8. 8

Place one peanut butter ball into the center of each cooled cookie.

  9. 9

Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in 30 second intervals and drizzle a small amount over the top of the peanut butter center.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store these cookies in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep the peanut butter firm and fresh. You can also freeze them for up to a month if you want to save some for later cravings.
