There is something so special about the combination of soft peanut butter dough and a chocolate center. These cookies are a staple in my kitchen whenever I want to bake something that feels like a warm hug.

My best tip for these cookies is to unwrap your chocolate kisses before you start baking. You will want to press them into the hot cookies the moment they come out of the oven so they stay perfectly shaped.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Approximately 30 milk chocolate kisses, unwrapped

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. 2

In a large bowl, cream together the peanut butter, butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is smooth.

  3. 3

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

  4. 4

Slowly mix in the flour, baking soda, and salt until a soft dough forms.

  5. 5

Roll the dough into small balls about one inch in size and place them on a parchment lined baking sheet.

  6. 6

Bake the cookies for 8 to 10 minutes or until they are set but still soft.

  7. 7

Remove the tray from the oven and immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.

  8. 8

Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before moving them to a wire rack to cool completely.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store these cookies in an airtight container at room temperature to keep them soft for up to five days. You can also freeze the baked cookies for a month if you want to save some for later.
