These crowd pleasing sliders feature shredded chicken and melted cheddar on soft Hawaiian rolls with a savory butter topping.
dailyrecipesbook.comIf you are looking for the perfect party snack or an easy weeknight meal, these sliders are a true winner. They are simple to prepare and disappear quickly whenever I serve them to friends and family.
The secret is using rotisserie chicken and cream cheese, which keeps the filling moist and rich. I love how the buttery topping toasts up in the oven to give the rolls a perfect golden finish.
Ingredients
- 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls
- 1 lb rotisserie chicken, shredded
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 Tbsp butter, melted
- 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp everything bagel seasoning
- nonstick cooking spray
Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a 9 by 11 inch baking dish.
- 2
Use a serrated knife to slice the entire block of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping them connected, and place the bottom layer into your prepared baking dish.
- 3
In a medium bowl, mix together the shredded chicken, diced red onion, mayonnaise, softened cream cheese, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until well combined.
- 4
Spread the chicken mixture evenly over the bottom layer of rolls, then sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese on top.
- 5
Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese layer.
- 6
In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and everything bagel seasoning, then brush this mixture over the tops of the rolls.
- 7
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
- 8
Remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.
๐ก Tips
To keep these extra fresh, serve them warm right out of the oven. If you have any leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat them in the oven for a few minutes to regain that toasted texture.
