There is nothing quite like coming home to the smell of a slow cooked roast waiting for you. This dish has become a favorite in our kitchen because it uses just a few simple ingredients to create a rich and tangy flavor that everyone loves.

My best tip is to use a high quality chuck roast for the most tender results. The fat renders down beautifully over the long cooking time, making every bite melt in your mouth.

Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 pound beef chuck roast
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 to 6 whole pepperoncini peppers
  • 2 tablespoons juice from the pepperoncini jar

Instructions

  1. 1

Place the beef chuck roast into the bottom of your slow cooker.

  2. 2

Sprinkle the dry ranch dressing mix and the au jus gravy mix evenly over the top of the meat.

  3. 3

Place the butter on top of the seasoned roast.

  4. 4

Arrange the pepperoncini peppers around the roast and pour the pepper juice over everything.

  5. 5

Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 to 5 hours until the meat is fork tender.

  6. 6

Shred the beef using two forks and stir it into the juices before serving.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Serve this roast over creamy mashed potatoes or rice to soak up all the flavorful juices. You can store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days, and it tastes even better the next day.
