I love making these meatballs because I can pop them in the oven and walk away. There is no need to worry about flipping them in a pan or cleaning up messy oil splatters on the stovetop. They always come out perfectly golden and hold their shape beautifully.

My best tip is to avoid overworking the meat mixture with your hands. If you mix it just until the ingredients are combined, the meatballs stay light and tender instead of getting tough. These are wonderful served over a big bowl of pasta or tucked into a toasted sub roll.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 2

In a large bowl, stir together the breadcrumbs and milk until the milk is absorbed.

  3. 3

Add the ground beef, ground pork, parmesan, egg, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper to the bowl.

  4. 4

Use your hands to gently mix everything together until just combined, being careful not to pack the meat too tightly.

  5. 5

Roll the mixture into golf ball sized portions and place them on your prepared baking sheet.

  6. 6

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the meatballs are browned and cooked through in the center.

  7. 7

Remove from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store leftover meatballs in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. You can also freeze them after baking for a quick dinner later. Serve these with your favorite marinara sauce or simply enjoy them with a side salad.
