Banana dump cake is a favorite in my house because it takes almost no effort to put together. You just layer the ingredients in your pan and let the oven do all the hard work for you while your kitchen starts to smell amazing.

The secret is the butter on top, which helps create those delicious crispy edges. My best tip is to make sure you spread your butter slices as evenly as you can so every bite gets that perfect golden crunch.

Ingredients

  • 3 large ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a 9 by 13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

Arrange the banana slices in an even layer across the bottom of your prepared pan.

  3. 3

Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the bananas.

  4. 4

Scatter the chopped nuts on top of the cake mix layer.

  5. 5

Drizzle the melted butter over the top, making sure to cover as much of the dry cake mix as possible.

  6. 6

Dust the top with cinnamon for a little extra warmth.

  7. 7

Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling.

  8. 8

Let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving so the base can set slightly.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Serve this warm with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of salted caramel sauce. If you have leftovers, keep them in the fridge and warm them up in the microwave for a few seconds before eating.
