These BBQ chicken sliders are a favorite in my house for busy weeknights or casual weekend get togethers. They are incredibly easy to pull together, and the combination of tangy barbecue sauce with creamy Gouda cheese is always a big hit with guests.

My best tip is to use a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store to save some time in the kitchen. If you want a little extra zing, feel free to add a few thinly sliced red onions or pickles inside the rolls before baking.

Ingredients

  • 12 count package of Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 cup shredded Gouda cheese
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. 2

Slice the whole pack of rolls in half horizontally so you have a top slab and a bottom slab.

  3. 3

Place the bottom slab of rolls into a greased baking dish.

  4. 4

In a medium bowl, mix the shredded chicken with the barbecue sauce until fully coated.

  5. 5

Spread the chicken mixture evenly over the bottom rolls and sprinkle the shredded Gouda cheese on top.

  6. 6

Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese.

  7. 7

Whisk the melted butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley together in a small bowl.

  8. 8

Brush the butter mixture generously over the tops of the rolls.

  9. 9

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.

  10. 10

Slice them into individual sliders and serve warm.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days. Reheat them in the oven at 300 degrees to keep the rolls from getting soggy in the microwave. These are best served with a side of crunchy coleslaw.
