Easy Caramel Apple Bark
This sweet and crunchy treat tastes just like a classic caramel apple but is much easier to make.
dailyrecipesbook.comCaramel apple bark is one of my favorite quick treats to whip up when I want something sweet without the mess of dipping whole apples. It captures all those lovely fall flavors in thin, crispy pieces that are perfect for snacking or sharing with friends.
You can keep this simple or add your favorite toppings like nuts or extra chocolate drizzles. My biggest tip is to make sure your apple slices are very thin so they get nice and crisp while baking in the oven.
Ingredients
- 2 large crisp apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp
- 1 cup caramel bits or soft caramel candies
- 1 tablespoon heavy cream
- 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup chopped roasted peanuts
Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2
Core the apples and slice them into very thin rounds or half moons.
- 3
Arrange the apple slices on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer without overlapping.
- 4
Bake for about 90 minutes or until the apples are dry and starting to crisp up, flipping them halfway through.
- 5
Remove the apples from the oven and let them cool completely on the tray.
- 6
Melt the caramel bits with the heavy cream in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- 7
Drizzle the melted caramel over the cooled apple slices, then melt the chocolate chips and drizzle that over the top as well.
- 8
Sprinkle with the chopped peanuts and place the tray in the fridge for 20 minutes to let everything set before breaking the bark into pieces.
๐ก Tips
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep the apples crunchy. If you prefer a salty finish, sprinkle a tiny pinch of flaky sea salt over the chocolate before it sets.
