I love keeping this ground turkey in my fridge because it works for so many different meals. You can toss it into taco shells for a quick dinner or serve it over a bowl of fluffy rice for a healthy lunch option.

The seasoning mix gives it a great savory flavor that never gets boring. If you want a little extra heat, just add a pinch of red pepper flakes while you are browning the meat.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth or water

Instructions

  1. 1

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  2. 2

Add the onion to the pan and cook for about five minutes until it turns soft and translucent.

  3. 3

Stir in the garlic and cook for one minute until it smells fragrant.

  4. 4

Add the ground turkey to the skillet and break it apart with a wooden spoon as it cooks.

  5. 5

Cook the turkey until it is fully browned and no longer pink.

  6. 6

Sprinkle in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper, then stir well to coat the meat.

  7. 7

Pour in the chicken broth or water and let the mixture simmer for about five minutes to combine all the flavors.

  8. 8

Remove from the heat and serve immediately or store for later.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store this turkey in airtight containers in the fridge for up to four days. You can also freeze it for up to two months. If you are serving it as tacos, top with fresh cilantro and lime wedges for a bright finish.
