There is nothing like a perfectly seasoned burger to make a simple dinner feel like a treat. This homemade seasoning mix uses pantry staples like smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder to add a deep, savory flavor that beats any store bought packet. It is fantastic on beef, chicken, or veggie burgers.

I prefer to sprinkle this blend on the outside of my patties right before cooking rather than mixing it into the meat. This helps create a lovely, flavorful crust while keeping the inside of the burger juicy and tender. Give it a try next time you fire up the grill or the stove.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. 1

In a small bowl, whisk together the sweet paprika, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

When you are ready to cook, lightly sprinkle about 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of the seasoning over each side of your burger patty.

  3. 3

Cook your burgers on the grill or in a skillet as you normally would, allowing the heat to toast the spices into a delicious crust.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store any leftover seasoning in an airtight jar kept in a cool, dark place to maintain freshness. When cooking, use a light hand so you do not overpower the meat, as about three quarters of a teaspoon total is plenty for a standard quarter pound burger.
