Easy Peach Crumble
This classic peach crumble features juicy, tender peaches topped with a perfectly spiced, golden crunch.
dailyrecipesbook.comThere is nothing quite like a warm peach dessert to celebrate the summer season. My family absolutely loves this recipe because it balances the sweetness of fresh fruit with a buttery, spiced topping that tastes wonderful right out of the oven.
The secret to success is choosing truly ripe peaches. If your fruit is still a bit firm, just tuck it into a paper bag with a banana for a day or two to speed up the ripening process.
Ingredients
- 6 to 8 ripe peaches, sliced
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- 2
In a large bowl, toss the sliced peaches with the sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and cornstarch until the fruit is well coated.
- 3
Pour the peach mixture into a greased baking dish and spread it out evenly.
- 4
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, baking powder, and salt.
- 5
Add the cold butter cubes to the flour mixture and use your fingers or a pastry cutter to mix until the topping looks like coarse, golden crumbs.
- 6
Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the peaches.
- 7
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit filling is bubbling.
- 8
Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving warm with your favorite ice cream.
๐ก Tips
Store any leftovers in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To keep the topping crisp, you can reheat individual servings in a 350 degree oven until the fruit is bubbly again. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
