Easy Pumpkin Poke Cake
This moist and spiced pumpkin cake is soaked in a rich caramel and milk mixture for a truly decadent treat.
dailyrecipesbook.comThere is something so comforting about a good pumpkin dessert during the autumn months. This poke cake is one of my favorite go to recipes because it stays incredibly moist thanks to the sweet milk mixture that soaks right into the sponge.
My biggest tip for this cake is to make sure you poke the holes while the cake is still warm. This helps the caramel and condensed milk travel deep into every single bite for the best flavor possible.
Ingredients
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 15 ounces canned pumpkin puree
- 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup water
- 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
- 12 ounces caramel sauce
- 8 ounces whipped topping, thawed
Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a 9 by 13 inch baking pan.
- 2
In a large bowl, mix together the cake mix, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, eggs, oil, and water until smooth.
- 3
Pour the batter into your prepared pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- 4
While the cake is still warm, use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the top of the cake.
- 5
Pour the sweetened condensed milk and caramel sauce evenly over the cake, making sure to fill the holes.
- 6
Let the cake cool completely in the refrigerator before spreading the whipped topping over the top.
- 7
Serve chilled and enjoy.
๐ก Tips
Keep this cake in the refrigerator since it has a whipped topping layer. It stays fresh for up to three days. If you want a little extra crunch, sprinkle some toasted pecans on top before serving.
