Fresh Tuna Sushi Stacks
These beautiful tuna sushi stacks are a fun and easy way to enjoy your favorite flavors without the hassle of rolling sushi.
dailyrecipesbook.comWhen you have a craving for sushi but do not want to spend hours perfecting your rolling technique, these stacks are the perfect solution. They look fancy enough to serve at a dinner party but are simple enough for a quick weeknight meal.
You can easily customize these by adding extra avocado or a sprinkle of sesame seeds. My best tip is to make sure your rice is fully cooled before you start layering so the stacks hold their shape perfectly on the plate.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked sushi rice
- 1 pound sushi grade tuna, finely diced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 ripe avocado, diced
- 1/2 cup cucumber, finely diced
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon sriracha
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
- Optional sliced green onions for garnish
Instructions
- 1
In a small bowl, mix the diced tuna with soy sauce and sesame oil. Let it sit in the fridge for ten minutes to marinate.
- 2
In a separate small dish, stir together the mayonnaise and sriracha to create a spicy sauce.
- 3
Lightly grease the inside of a one cup measuring cup with a little oil to help with unmolding.
- 4
Start by pressing a layer of cooled sushi rice into the bottom of the measuring cup.
- 5
Add a layer of diced cucumber on top of the rice, followed by a layer of diced avocado.
- 6
Finish with a generous layer of the marinated tuna.
- 7
Place a plate upside down over the measuring cup and carefully flip it over, then lift the cup to reveal your sushi stack.
- 8
Drizzle the spicy mayo over the top and sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.
๐ก Tips
Serve these immediately so the avocado stays fresh and green. If you have leftovers, store the tuna and rice separately in the fridge for up to one day.
