There is something special about cooking dinner on the grill. These steak kabobs are my go to recipe when I want something flavorful that does not require a lot of fuss in the kitchen.

The secret is the marinade, which uses red wine vinegar and Dijon mustard to make the meat incredibly tender. You can use any vegetables you have on hand, but I really love the sweetness of bell peppers and red onion once they get a little char from the heat.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds sirloin steak, cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large bell peppers, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 large red onion, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • Wooden or metal skewers

Instructions

  1. 1

Whisk the red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, and black pepper together in a medium bowl.

  2. 2

Add the steak cubes to the bowl and toss to coat well, then let the meat marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

  3. 3

Soak wooden skewers in water for 20 minutes if you are using them to prevent burning.

  4. 4

Thread the marinated steak, bell peppers, and red onion onto the skewers in an alternating pattern.

  5. 5

Preheat your grill to medium high heat.

  6. 6

Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 8 to 10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the steak reaches your preferred level of doneness and the vegetables are tender.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Serve these skewers alongside a fresh green salad or some fluffy rice to soak up the juices. If you have leftovers, remove the meat and veggies from the sticks and store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
