There is nothing quite like a big bowl of noodles when you are craving something comforting and savory. This recipe is a favorite in my house because it comes together in just a few minutes using simple pantry staples. It satisfies those takeout cravings without any of the wait.

My best tip for this dish is to make sure your garlic is golden but not brown. If the garlic burns, it can taste a bit bitter, so keep a close watch on it while it cooks in the butter.

Ingredients

  • 2 packs instant ramen noodles, seasoning packets discarded
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha or chili garlic sauce
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. 1

Boil the ramen noodles according to the package directions, then drain them well and set aside.

  2. 2

Melt the butter in a large pan over medium heat.

  3. 3

Add the minced garlic to the butter and cook for about one minute until it smells fragrant.

  4. 4

Stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, and sriracha until the sugar dissolves into a smooth sauce.

  5. 5

Add the cooked noodles to the pan and toss them thoroughly so they are well coated in the garlic sauce.

  6. 6

Remove the pan from the heat, drizzle with the sesame oil, and top with fresh green onions before serving.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

These noodles taste best right out of the pan. If you have leftovers, keep them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days. You can easily add some cooked chicken or tofu to make this a more filling meal.
