There is something so comforting about a pan of homemade marshmallow treats. Adding creamy peanut butter makes them even better, and the little bits of peanut butter cups hidden inside take things to a whole new level of deliciousness.

You will love how quickly these come together for a last minute dessert. My best advice is to keep your heat low when melting the marshmallows so they stay nice and soft instead of turning hard or chewy.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 10 ounces marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 6 cups crispy rice cereal
  • 1 cup chopped peanut butter cups
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter for drizzling

Instructions

  1. 1

Grease a 9 by 13 inch baking pan with a little butter or cooking spray.

  2. 2

Melt the butter in a large pot over low heat.

  3. 3

Add the marshmallows and stir constantly until they are completely smooth.

  4. 4

Stir in the half cup of peanut butter until well combined.

  5. 5

Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the crispy rice cereal.

  6. 6

Gently fold in the chopped peanut butter cups.

  7. 7

Press the mixture into your prepared pan using a greased spatula.

  8. 8

Melt the chocolate chips and the extra peanut butter together in the microwave for thirty seconds, then stir until smooth.

  9. 9

Drizzle the chocolate mixture over the top of the treats before letting them cool completely.

  10. 10

    Cut into squares once set.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store these in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days to keep them soft. If you want them extra firm, you can pop the pan in the fridge for twenty minutes before slicing.
