There is something so satisfying about the combination of sweet buttercream and crunchy chocolate cookies. It is a favorite in our house because it turns simple cupcakes or cakes into a real treat that everyone gets excited about.

My top tip for the best texture is to make sure your butter is softened to room temperature before you start. If you want a finer texture, you can crush your cookies into a dust, but I personally love having a few larger chunks for that extra bit of crunch.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 10 chocolate sandwich cookies, finely crushed

Instructions
