Homemade Crunchwrap Supreme
A homemade version of the classic fast food favorite that is even better when made in your own kitchen.
dailyrecipesbook.comThere is something so satisfying about the combination of hot, seasoned beef and cool, crunchy toppings all tucked inside a toasted flour tortilla. It is the perfect comfort food for a movie night at home or a fun weekend lunch.
My favorite trick for getting the perfect fold is to make sure your larger tortilla is nice and soft before you start. If you feel like the tortilla is a bit stiff, pop it in the microwave for ten seconds to make it easier to wrap without any cracks.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 package taco seasoning
- 1 cup nacho cheese sauce
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 4 small flour tortillas or tostada shells
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions
- 1
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until it is fully cooked, then drain any excess fat.
- 2
Stir the taco seasoning and the recommended amount of water into the beef and let it simmer for a few minutes until thickened.
- 3
Lay out your large tortillas and place a scoop of the seasoned beef in the center of each one.
- 4
Drizzle the nacho cheese sauce over the beef.
- 5
Place a tostada shell on top of the cheese layer.
- 6
Spread sour cream over the tostada shell, then add the lettuce, tomatoes, and shredded cheddar cheese.
- 7
Place a smaller flour tortilla circle on top of the toppings, then fold the edges of the large bottom tortilla toward the center, creating pleats until the top is covered.
- 8
Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- 9
Place each crunchwrap seam side down in the pan and cook for about three minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
- 10
Carefully flip and cook the other side for another three minutes until crispy.
๐ก Tips
Serve these right away while they are still hot and crispy for the best texture. If you have leftovers, you can wrap them in foil and reheat them in an air fryer or oven to get that crunch back. They do not freeze well, so enjoy them fresh.
