Quick No Bake S'mores Cereal Bars
These gooey cereal bars bring all the campfire fun into your kitchen without needing to light a fire.
dailyrecipesbook.comThere is something so comforting about the mix of toasted oats, melted marshmallows, and chocolate. These bars are a staple in my house because they come together in just fifteen minutes and do not require any oven time at all.
They are perfect for busy weeknights when you need a quick treat. My secret tip is to lightly grease your hands with a bit of butter before pressing the mixture into the pan to keep things from getting too sticky.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 10 ounces mini marshmallows
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 6 cups golden honey graham cereal
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup extra mini marshmallows for the top
Instructions
- 1
Line a 9 by 9 inch square baking pan with parchment paper or foil.
- 2
Melt the butter in a large pot over low heat.
- 3
Add the 10 ounces of marshmallows to the butter and stir constantly until they are completely melted and smooth.
- 4
Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- 5
Gently fold in the cereal until every piece is well coated with the marshmallow mixture.
- 6
Stir in the chocolate chips quickly so they do not melt entirely.
- 7
Press the mixture firmly into your prepared pan using a greased spatula.
- 8
Sprinkle the remaining half cup of marshmallows on top and press them down lightly.
- 9
Let the bars cool completely for about 30 minutes before cutting them into squares.
๐ก Tips
Store these bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. If you like them extra gooey, you can pop a square in the microwave for five seconds before eating.
