Rich and Chewy Double Chocolate Cookies
These fudgy chocolate cookies are the perfect treat for any chocolate lover.
dailyrecipesbook.comThere is nothing quite like a warm chocolate cookie straight from the oven. These are extra special because they use two kinds of chocolate to make them super rich and chewy.
I love finishing them with a little sprinkle of sea salt because it balances out the sweetness. They are always the first thing to disappear whenever I bring a batch to a party or a neighborhood gathering.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup softened unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
- Flaky sea salt for topping
Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- 3
In a separate large bowl, beat the softened butter with both sugars until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- 4
Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until well combined.
- 5
Slowly stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined, then fold in the chocolate chips.
- 6
Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto your prepared baking sheet, leaving some space for them to spread.
- 7
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are set but the centers still look soft.
- 8
Remove from the oven and sprinkle a little flaky sea salt over the top while they are still warm.
- 9
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before moving them to a wire rack.
๐ก Tips
Store these cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to four days. If you want to keep them longer, you can freeze the dough balls before baking and just add an extra minute to the baking time when you are ready to eat.
