Simple Homemade Meatballs
These classic meatballs are juicy, tender, and perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner or a crowd pleasing appetizer.
dailyrecipesbook.comThere is something so comforting about a big bowl of meatballs. Whether you serve them over pasta with plenty of marinara sauce or set them out with toothpicks for a party, they always disappear quickly.
My favorite trick for keeping these meatballs tender is to handle the meat as little as possible while mixing. This prevents them from becoming tough, so they stay light and juicy every single time.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2
In a large mixing bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let it sit for a minute until the crumbs are soft.
- 3
Add the ground beef, ground pork, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper to the bowl.
- 4
Use your hands to gently mix the ingredients together until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- 5
Roll the mixture into balls about the size of a golf ball and place them on your prepared baking sheet.
- 6
Bake for 20 minutes or until the meatballs are browned and cooked through in the center.
- 7
Serve warm with your favorite tomato sauce or your preferred dipping sauce.
๐ก Tips
Store leftover meatballs in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. You can also freeze them after baking to have a quick meal ready on busy nights. Serve them over spaghetti, inside a sub roll, or with a side of mashed potatoes.
