Simple Mixed Fruit Crisp
This easy fruit crisp is a cozy dessert that uses whatever fresh or frozen fruit you have in your kitchen.
dailyrecipesbook.comThere is nothing quite like a warm fruit crisp to end a meal. It is one of my favorite go to desserts because it is so forgiving and works with almost any fruit like apples, peaches, or mixed berries.
My best tip is to taste your fruit before adding the sugar. If your fruit is already very sweet, you can easily cut back on the sugar in the filling to let the natural flavors shine through.
Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh or frozen fruit of your choice
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a baking dish.
- 2
In a large bowl, toss your chosen fruit with the granulated sugar and lemon juice until well coated.
- 3
Pour the fruit mixture into your prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
- 4
In a separate bowl, mix the flour, oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
- 5
Add the cold butter cubes to the dry mixture and use your fingers or a pastry cutter to blend it until it looks like coarse crumbs.
- 6
Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the fruit.
- 7
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the fruit is bubbling and the topping is golden brown.
- 8
Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
๐ก Tips
Serve this warm with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of fresh whipped cream. If you have leftovers, keep them in the fridge for up to three days and warm them up in the oven for a few minutes to crisp the topping back up.
