There is nothing quite like a warm chocolate cookie right out of the oven. This recipe is wonderful because you do not have to worry about leftovers tempting you all week long. It satisfies that sweet tooth perfectly with a deep cocoa flavor and plenty of chocolate chips in every bite.

Make sure your butter is soft before you start. If you are in a rush, you can microwave it for five seconds, but be careful not to let it turn into a liquid puddle. Enjoy this warm with a cold glass of milk for the ultimate snack time experience.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon beaten egg
  • 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons semi sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a small baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 2

In a small bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.

  3. 3

Stir in the vanilla extract and the beaten egg until the mixture is well combined.

  4. 4

Add the flour, cocoa powder, and baking soda. Mix until a soft dough forms.

  5. 5

    Fold in the chocolate chips.

  6. 6

Scoop the dough onto your prepared baking sheet and pat it down slightly into a cookie shape.

  7. 7

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are set and the center looks soft.

  8. 8

Let the cookie cool on the pan for 5 minutes before eating so it can firm up.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

If you want an extra salty kick, sprinkle a tiny pinch of sea salt on top right after taking it out of the oven. Store any uneaten portions in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days.
