Small Batch Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies
These cookies are the perfect way to satisfy a sweet craving without ending up with dozens of leftovers.
dailyrecipesbook.comThere is nothing quite like a warm chocolate chip cookie straight from the oven. This small batch recipe is wonderful because it makes just enough for a treat today without cluttering your kitchen counter with too many extras.
My favorite thing about these cookies is how soft and chewy they stay. Make sure to pull them out of the oven when the edges are golden but the centers still look a little bit underdone so they stay nice and soft once they cool.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a small baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2
In a medium bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- 3
Beat in the egg yolk and the vanilla extract until well combined.
- 4
Stir in the flour, baking soda, and salt until a soft dough forms, then fold in the chocolate chips.
- 5
Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto your prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one.
- 6
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
- 7
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for five minutes before moving them to a wire rack to finish cooling.
๐ก Tips
Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. If you want them to taste fresh again, pop a cookie in the microwave for ten seconds to get that melty chocolate center back.
