The Perfect Classic Gin and Tonic
A refreshing and crisp cocktail that relies on quality ingredients for a truly cooling experience.
There is nothing quite like a cold gin and tonic after a long day. It is one of those drinks that feels sophisticated yet remains incredibly easy to pull together at home.
The secret to a great drink is using a gin you genuinely enjoy and pairing it with a high quality tonic water. I love to keep mine chilled and garnish it with fresh lime to bring out the bright botanical notes.
Ingredients
- 2 ounces of your favorite dry gin
- 4 to 6 ounces of premium tonic water
- 1 fresh lime wedge
- 1 cup of large ice cubes
Instructions
- 1
Fill a chilled highball glass with plenty of ice cubes.
- 2
Pour the gin over the ice.
- 3
Top the glass with the tonic water.
- 4
Squeeze the lime wedge into the drink and drop it into the glass.
- 5
Give the mixture a very gentle stir to combine the flavors without losing the bubbles.
π‘ Tips
Always use fresh ice to keep your drink tasting crisp. If you want to get creative, try adding a slice of cucumber or a few fresh berries to match the botanicals in your gin. Keep your tonic water in the fridge so the drink stays cold from the very first sip.
