Classic Fresh Guacamole
This creamy and zesty guacamole is the perfect crowd pleasing dip for any celebration.
There is nothing quite like homemade guacamole to get a party started. This version focuses on fresh, simple ingredients that really let the creamy avocado shine.
My top tip for the best flavor is to use ripe avocados that feel slightly soft to the touch. If you have extra lime juice on hand, adding a little extra helps keep the dip vibrant and green for longer.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe avocados
- 1/2 small white onion, finely diced
- 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 to 2 jalapeño peppers, seeded and minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 ripe tomato, diced
Instructions
- 1
Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
- 2
Use a fork to mash the avocado until it reaches your desired consistency, whether you prefer it chunky or smooth.
- 3
Add the onion, cilantro, jalapeño, lime juice, and salt to the bowl.
- 4
Gently fold in the diced tomato.
- 5
Taste and add more salt or lime juice if needed, then serve immediately with your favorite tortilla chips.
💡 Tips
Serve this immediately with warm tortilla chips for the best experience. If you need to store it, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole to prevent browning and keep it in the fridge for up to one day.
