Classic Homemade Guacamole
This fresh and creamy guacamole is the absolute perfect side dish to serve with your favorite taco night spread.
There is nothing quite like a bowl of fresh guacamole to bring a taco meal together. It is simple, vibrant, and always the first thing to disappear from the table when friends come over for dinner.
My top tip for the best flavor is to use perfectly ripe avocados that feel soft but not mushy when you give them a gentle squeeze. If you love a little extra heat, feel free to add an extra serrano pepper or a pinch of red chili flakes.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe avocados
- 1/2 lime, juiced
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
- 2 roma tomatoes, diced
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
Instructions
- 1
Cut the avocados in half and remove the pits, then scoop the flesh into a medium sized mixing bowl.
- 2
Use a fork to mash the avocado until it reaches your desired consistency, whether you prefer it chunky or smooth.
- 3
Stir in the lime juice and salt, then fold in the remaining ingredients.
- 4
Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed, then serve immediately with your favorite tortilla chips or tacos.
๐ก Tips
Store any leftovers in an airtight container with a piece of plastic wrap pressed directly against the surface of the dip to prevent browning. You can serve this alongside warm flour tortillas or fresh corn chips for the best experience.
