Creamy Homemade Queso Dip
This easy cheese dip is the perfect crowd pleasing snack for any party or movie night.
dailyrecipesbook.comThere is nothing quite like a warm bowl of melted cheese to get a party started. This queso recipe is my absolute favorite because it stays smooth and creamy without any extra fuss, making it perfect for dipping your favorite tortilla chips or drizzling over nachos.
I love keeping this recipe simple so the flavor of the cheese really shines. If you want to add a little heat, feel free to toss in some diced green chiles or extra jalapeΓ±os right at the end for an extra kick.
Ingredients
- 1 pound processed cheese like Velveeta, cut into cubes
- 1 can diced tomatoes with green chiles, drained
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
Instructions
- 1
Place the cubed cheese, drained tomatoes, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, and cumin into a medium saucepan.
- 2
Cook over low heat, stirring frequently so the cheese does not stick to the bottom of the pan.
- 3
Continue stirring until the cheese is completely melted and the dip is smooth and creamy.
- 4
Remove from the heat and serve immediately while the queso is warm.
π‘ Tips
Serve this dip in a small slow cooker on the warm setting to keep it melted for hours. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge and reheat gently on the stove with a splash of milk.
