This steak has become a favorite in my house because it is so easy to prepare. The blender marinade works wonders to soften the meat and pack every single bite with delicious flavor.

I love serving this with crisp lettuce cups and a side of fluffy white rice. If you have any extra sauce, make sure to drizzle it over the top before you dig in.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds flank steak
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, peeled
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Lettuce leaves for serving
  • Steamed white rice for serving

Instructions

  1. 1

Place the soy sauce, brown sugar, green onions, sesame oil, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes into a blender.

  2. 2

Blend the mixture on high until it is completely smooth.

  3. 3

Place the flank steak in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow glass dish.

  4. 4

Pour the marinade over the steak and turn to coat it well. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least four hours or overnight.

  5. 5

Preheat your grill or a grill pan over medium high heat.

  6. 6

Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the excess liquid.

  7. 7

Grill the steak for about five to seven minutes per side, or until it reaches your preferred level of doneness.

  8. 8

Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest on a cutting board for ten minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.

  9. 9

Serve the slices in lettuce cups with a scoop of white rice.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Let the meat rest after cooking so the juices stay inside. You can store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. It tastes even better the next day once the flavors have settled.
