Easy Mini Grilled Cheese Bites
These bite sized grilled cheese sandwiches are the perfect companion for your favorite bowl of soup.
dailyrecipesbook.comThere is nothing quite like a crispy grilled cheese to make a soup dinner feel complete. I love making these mini versions because they are fun to eat and fit perfectly on the edge of a soup bowl.
My favorite trick for this recipe is to bake the whole batch on one tray. It saves you from standing over the stove flipping individual sandwiches and ensures every single one gets perfectly golden brown.
Ingredients
- 8 slices of white or sourdough bread
- 4 tablespoons salted butter, softened
- 8 slices of cheddar cheese
- Optional: a pinch of garlic powder
Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2
Trim the crusts off your bread slices and cut each slice into four equal squares.
- 3
Spread the softened butter on one side of every bread square.
- 4
Place half of the bread squares butter side down on the baking sheet.
- 5
Top each bread square with a piece of cheese and sprinkle with a little garlic powder if you like.
- 6
Place the remaining bread squares on top with the buttered side facing up.
- 7
Bake for about 10 minutes or until the bread is golden and the cheese has melted completely.
๐ก Tips
These taste best when served warm right out of the oven. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container and reheat them in a toaster oven to keep the bread nice and crispy.
