There is nothing quite like having a batch of homemade garlic aioli in the fridge. It turns simple fries, burgers, wraps, and roasted veggies into something special. Unlike store bought versions, this recipe gives you a fresh and tangy flavor that pairs perfectly with almost anything.

Making this at home is easier than you think. By using a food processor and a slow drizzle of oil, you get a thick and glossy sauce that tastes far better than anything from a jar. It is a kitchen staple that I always love to keep on hand for a quick garlicky boost.

Ingredients

  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 2 garlic cloves, peeled and grated
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Instructions

  1. 1

Place your room temperature egg into the bowl of your food processor and blend for 20 seconds to break it down.

  2. 2

Add the Dijon mustard, salt, and your freshly grated garlic. Blend for another 20 to 30 seconds until everything is well combined.

  3. 3

With the food processor running on low, very slowly drizzle in the vegetable oil in a thin, steady stream. This is the most important step for getting that perfect thick texture.

  4. 4

Continue blending until the mixture turns pale, thick, and creamy, which usually happens about 30 seconds after all the oil is incorporated.

  5. 5

Add the lemon juice and honey, then pulse briefly to mix them in. Give it a taste and adjust the seasonings if you like.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store your aioli in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. If you have the time, let it chill for 30 minutes before serving so the garlic flavor can settle into the sauce. If you want a milder taste, feel free to swap the raw garlic for a few cloves of roasted garlic.
