There is nothing quite like the combination of fresh cantaloupe and salty prosciutto. It is a classic pairing that works so well because the sweetness of the fruit balances the savory meat perfectly. Adding a little mozzarella and fresh basil makes these skewers feel like a fancy appetizer that comes together in just a few minutes.

I love serving these at backyard parties because they are easy to grab and eat while you chat. If you want an extra kick, do not skip the jalapeno honey because it adds a tiny bit of heat that makes all the other flavors pop.

Ingredients

  • 1 cantaloupe, scooped into balls or cubed
  • 6 ounces thin sliced prosciutto
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella pearls
  • 1 bunch fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
  • 1 tablespoon honey mixed with a pinch of red pepper flakes or sliced jalapeno

Instructions

  1. 1

Prepare your melon by using a melon baller to create uniform spheres or simply cut the fruit into bite sized cubes.

  2. 2

Tear each slice of prosciutto into long strips.

  3. 3

Thread a melon ball onto a small wooden skewer followed by a folded piece of prosciutto, a fresh basil leaf, and a mozzarella pearl.

  4. 4

Repeat until all your ingredients are used up.

  5. 5

Arrange the skewers on a serving platter and drizzle them with the balsamic glaze.

  6. 6

Finish by lightly drizzling your jalapeno honey over the top before serving.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

These are best served immediately so the basil stays fresh and bright. If you need to make them ahead of time, keep the balsamic glaze and honey on the side and drizzle them just before your guests arrive. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one day.
