Rich and Bold Homemade Buffalo Sauce
A creamy, tangy, and perfectly spiced buffalo sauce that tastes far better than anything you can buy in a bottle.
dailyrecipesbook.comThere is truly nothing like making your own buffalo sauce right in your own kitchen. It is so much richer and more flavorful than store bought versions because you can control exactly what goes into it. Plus, it comes together in just a few minutes with simple pantry staples.
I love keeping a jar of this in my fridge to add a little kick to my meals. It is perfect for classic chicken wings, but it is also wonderful drizzled over roasted potatoes, sandwiches, or even your morning eggs. Give it a try, and I promise you will never want to go back to the store version.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup hot sauce, such as Frank's RedHot
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- 1
Place the butter in a medium saucepan over medium low heat and melt it completely without letting it boil.
- 2
Remove the pan from the heat once the butter is melted.
- 3
Add the hot sauce, honey, onion powder, and garlic powder to the butter.
- 4
Whisk in the vinegar and Worcestershire sauce until the mixture is smooth and fully combined.
- 5
Allow the sauce to cool down before serving or transferring it to a sealed jar for storage.
๐ก Tips
Store this sauce in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to two weeks or in the freezer for several months. Since the butter will solidify when cold, simply warm the sauce gently on the stove or in the microwave before using it. If you want a thicker consistency, whisk in a small cornstarch slurry made from one teaspoon of cornstarch and one tablespoon of cold water.
