Smashed Burrata with Peaches
This fresh and creamy appetizer brings together juicy peaches and rich cheese for the perfect summer snack.
dailyrecipesbook.comThere is nothing quite like the combination of sweet peaches and cold, creamy burrata on a warm day. It is one of those simple dishes that looks fancy enough for guests but takes almost no time to put together in your own kitchen.
My secret tip is to make sure your peaches are perfectly ripe and juicy. If the peaches are too hard, they will not pair well with the soft cheese, so pick ones that give just a little bit when you press them gently.
Ingredients
- 2 fresh burrata balls
- 2 ripe peaches, sliced
- 1/4 cup candied walnuts, roughly chopped
- A handful of fresh basil leaves
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
- A pinch of sea salt
- A pinch of cracked black pepper
Instructions
- 1
Arrange the peach slices on a serving platter or individual plates.
- 2
Place the burrata balls on top of the peaches and gently tear them open with a fork to let the creamy centers spill out.
- 3
Scatter the chopped candied walnuts over the cheese and peaches.
- 4
Tuck the fresh basil leaves in between the fruit and cheese pieces.
- 5
Drizzle the olive oil and balsamic glaze over the entire dish.
- 6
Finish with a light sprinkle of sea salt and black pepper before serving immediately.
๐ก Tips
Serve this dish with toasted baguette slices to scoop up the creamy cheese and juices. If you have leftovers, keep the cheese and fruit separate in the fridge and assemble them fresh, as the peaches will soften if stored with the dressing.
