There is something special about the combination of bright lime and sweet honey on crispy chicken wings. They are always the first thing to disappear at a party because they are sweet, savory, and just a little bit addictive.

My favorite trick for getting the skin nice and crispy is to pat the wings very dry with a paper towel before you start cooking. It helps the glaze stick beautifully without making the wings soggy.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wingettes
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes, optional
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 2

Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels and place them in a large bowl.

  3. 3

Drizzle the oil over the wings and toss them until they are evenly coated.

  4. 4

Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.

  5. 5

Bake the wings for 40 to 45 minutes until the skin is golden and crispy, flipping them halfway through.

  6. 6

While the wings bake, whisk together the honey, lime juice, fish sauce, soy sauce, garlic, and chili flakes in a small saucepan.

  7. 7

Simmer the sauce over medium heat for about 5 minutes until it thickens slightly into a glaze.

  8. 8

Once the wings are finished baking, transfer them to a large bowl and pour the warm glaze over the top.

  9. 9

Toss well to coat every wing, then garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with extra lime wedges.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Serve these warm right out of the bowl for the best texture. If you have leftovers, keep them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days and reheat them in the oven to crisp them back up.
