Buffalo Chicken Lasagna
This creamy and spicy buffalo chicken lasagna is a fun, bold twist on the classic comfort food dish.
dailyrecipesbook.comIf your family loves buffalo wings or buffalo chicken dip, this lasagna will quickly become a favorite at your dinner table. It combines all those zesty, spicy flavors with the comforting texture of cheesy pasta, making it a perfect meal for busy weeknights or casual get togethers.
This dish is fantastic for meal planning because you can assemble it in advance and bake it whenever you are ready. For a lighter touch, you can swap the blue cheese crumbles for extra cheddar or Monterey Jack, and serve it with a crisp green salad to balance the heat.
Ingredients
- 1 pound oven ready lasagna noodles
- 3 cups cooked shredded chicken
- 15 ounces whole milk ricotta cheese
- 4 ounces softened cream cheese
- 3/4 cup buffalo sauce
- 3/4 cup blue cheese dressing or ranch dressing
- 1/2 cup blue cheese crumbles
- 1/3 cup sliced green onions
- 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and spray a 9x13 inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
- 2
In a large bowl, stir together the ricotta, cream cheese, buffalo sauce, blue cheese dressing, blue cheese crumbles, and green onions until smooth.
- 3
Spread about 1/3 cup of the sauce mixture across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- 4
Season the shredded chicken with salt and pepper.
- 5
Create the first layer by placing oven ready noodles over the sauce, followed by 1/3 of the seasoned chicken, 1/3 of the remaining sauce, and about 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.
- 6
Repeat these layers twice more, ending with the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
- 7
Cover the dish with foil and bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the noodles are tender and the center is hot.
- 8
Remove the foil and broil for 2 to 3 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly, then let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
๐ก Tips
To store leftovers, keep them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven or microwave. If you prefer to use traditional boiled noodles instead of oven ready ones, simply cook them according to the package directions before assembling your layers.
