Classic Wedge Salad with Blue Cheese Dressing
This crisp and cool wedge salad is a steakhouse favorite that is incredibly easy to assemble at home.
dailyrecipesbook.comThere is something so satisfying about the crunch of cold iceberg lettuce paired with salty bacon and creamy dressing. It feels like a fancy restaurant starter, but you can pull it together in your own kitchen in just a few minutes.
My top tip for this salad is to keep your lettuce head in the refrigerator until the very last second. Cold lettuce makes all the difference when it comes to that refreshing crunch we all love.
Ingredients
- 1 head iceberg lettuce
- 6 slices bacon, cooked until crispy and crumbled
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
- 1/2 cup blue cheese dressing
- 2 tablespoons crumbled blue cheese
- Freshly cracked black pepper to taste
Instructions
- 1
Remove any wilted outer leaves from the head of lettuce and cut the head into four even wedges.
- 2
Place one wedge on each salad plate.
- 3
Drizzle the blue cheese dressing generously over each wedge.
- 4
Scatter the crumbled bacon, cherry tomatoes, and diced red onion over the top.
- 5
Finish each salad with a sprinkle of extra blue cheese crumbles and a pinch of black pepper.
๐ก Tips
Serve this salad immediately while the lettuce is chilled and crisp. If you have leftovers, keep the dressing separate so the lettuce does not get soggy. You can also add balsamic glaze for a little extra sweetness.
