Crunchy Apple Coleslaw
A refreshing salad that balances crisp cabbage with sweet apples and a creamy dressing.
dailyrecipesbook.comThis apple coleslaw is one of my favorite side dishes for a summer cookout or a cozy dinner. It brings a lovely crunch and a bright, fresh flavor that pairs perfectly with grilled meats or sandwiches.
The secret to this salad is letting it sit in the fridge for about twenty minutes before you serve it. This allows the cabbage to soften just enough while the dressing coats everything beautifully.
Ingredients
- 4 cups shredded green cabbage
- 2 tart apples, cored and thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- 1
In a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, honey, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- 2
Add the shredded green cabbage, sliced apples, dried cranberries, and almonds to the bowl.
- 3
Toss everything together until the ingredients are well coated in the dressing.
- 4
Cover the bowl and let the slaw chill in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes before serving.
๐ก Tips
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days. If the almonds lose their crunch, just sprinkle a fresh handful on top right before you serve your next plate.
