Crunchy Broccoli and Bacon Salad
A refreshing salad that balances crisp broccoli with savory bacon and a touch of sweetness.
dailyrecipesbook.comThis salad is one of my favorite go to sides for any family gathering or weekday dinner. Everyone loves the combination of fresh broccoli florets mixed with salty bacon and those chewy dried cranberries that add just the right amount of sweetness.
My secret tip for this salad is to let it sit in the fridge for at least an hour before serving. This allows the dressing to soften the broccoli slightly and helps all those delicious flavors come together perfectly.
Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
- 1/3 cup dried cranberries
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- 1
Cut the broccoli florets into bite sized pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl.
- 2
Add the crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, sunflower seeds, and dried cranberries to the bowl with the broccoli.
- 3
In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, and sugar until the dressing is smooth.
- 4
Pour the dressing over the salad and toss everything together until well coated.
- 5
Season with a little salt and pepper to your liking.
- 6
Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least one hour before serving so the flavors can blend.
๐ก Tips
You can store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days. If you prefer a lighter dressing, feel free to use Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise.
