If you are looking for a quick and healthy dinner, shrimp is one of the best ingredients you can keep in your freezer. I love making this because it cooks in just three minutes, which is faster than you can even unload the dishwasher.

Shrimp is naturally high in protein and low in calories, making it a staple in my kitchen. This simple sautéed version uses a blend of smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cumin to pack in tons of flavor. It is perfect for topping salads, filling tacos, or tossing with your favorite pasta.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Freshly cracked black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. 1

Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels to ensure they sear properly.

  2. 2

In a small bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.

  3. 3

Toss the shrimp in a bowl with the seasoning blend until every piece is well coated.

  4. 4

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.

  5. 5

Add the shrimp to the pan in a single layer, being careful not to crowd the skillet.

  6. 6

Cook for about two minutes per side until the shrimp are opaque and pink.

  7. 7

Remove from the heat and stir in the fresh lemon juice and chopped parsley before serving.

💡 Tips

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days. These shrimp are best served immediately, but they make a wonderful addition to a cold pasta salad the next day.
