If you struggle with pepper seeds scattering across your kitchen every time you chop, this method is going to change your life. It is the cleanest and fastest way to prep peppers for stir frys, salads, or snacks.

My best advice is to use a very sharp chef's knife for this task. A sharp blade glides through the pepper walls easily and keeps your hands safe while you work.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole bell pepper
  • 1 sharp chef's knife
  • 1 cutting board

Instructions

  1. 1

Place the bell pepper on your cutting board and stand it up on its base.

  2. 2

Carefully slice downward along one of the sides of the pepper, staying close to the stem but avoiding the center seed pod.

  3. 3

Repeat this motion for each of the four sides of the pepper until you have four clean slabs.

  4. 4

Discard the stem and the center seed core, then slice your pepper slabs into strips or dice them as needed for your recipe.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store your pre cut pepper strips in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. They are perfect for quick lunch salads or adding to a fast weeknight dinner.
