Cheesy Everything Bagel Pull Apart Bread
This soft and savory homemade loaf is packed with Parmesan cheese and classic bagel seasoning in every single bite.
dailyrecipesbook.comMaking bread from scratch sounds like a lot of work, but this recipe is actually quite simple and so satisfying to make. My family loves how the layers pull away easily, making it the perfect side for a big brunch or a cozy dinner.
The secret to the great flavor is pressing the Parmesan right into the dough before stacking the layers. If your kitchen is a bit chilly, try letting the dough rise in the oven with just the light turned on to help it double in size.
Ingredients
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons everything bagel seasoning, divided
- 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- 1
In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the warm water, yeast, sugar, olive oil, salt, flour, and half of the everything bagel seasoning.
- 2
Use a dough hook to knead the mixture for about 5 minutes until a smooth and soft ball forms.
- 3
Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a warm, damp cloth, then let it rise for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- 4
Gently punch down the risen dough and roll it out on a floured surface into a large rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- 5
Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the dough and press it down firmly with your hands so it sticks to the surface.
- 6
Cut the dough into 3 long, even strips and stack them directly on top of one another.
- 7
Cut that stack into 6 equal sections, which will give you 6 small stacks of dough layers.
- 8
Stand the stacks upright in a greased loaf pan and sprinkle the rest of the bagel seasoning over the top.
- 9
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit while the dough rises one last time in the pan for 30 minutes.
- 10
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until the top is beautifully golden brown and the bread is cooked through.
💡 Tips
Serve this bread warm with a little bowl of cream cheese for dipping to get that full bagel experience. You can store any leftovers in an airtight container for two days, just give them a quick zap in the microwave to make them soft again.
