The Tokyo Tea is a fun, neon green drink that really brightens up any gathering. It is essentially a Long Island Iced Tea with a Japanese twist, thanks to the addition of Midori, which is a delicious honeydew melon liqueur. It is sweet, citrusy, and surprisingly balanced despite having a handful of different spirits.

I love serving this when I want something eye catching and different from the usual cocktail menu. Since it is built directly in the glass, it is also one of the easiest drinks to prepare for guests when you are in a hurry.

Ingredients

  • 0.5 ounce vodka
  • 0.5 ounce tequila
  • 0.5 ounce white rum
  • 0.5 ounce gin
  • 0.5 ounce Midori melon liqueur
  • 0.5 ounce Cointreau or triple sec
  • 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 0.5 ounce simple syrup
  • Splash of soda water
  • Ice cubes
  • Cocktail cherry for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1

Fill a highball glass with plenty of ice cubes.

  2. 2

Pour the vodka, tequila, white rum, gin, Midori, Cointreau, lemon juice, and simple syrup directly into the glass.

  3. 3

Stir the mixture well to combine all the ingredients and chill the liquid.

  4. 4

Top the drink off with a splash of soda water.

  5. 5

Garnish with a cocktail cherry if you like and serve immediately.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

To serve a crowd, mix all the liquors, citrus, and syrup in a large pitcher ahead of time and keep it chilled. When guests arrive, simply pour into glasses over ice and top each drink with a splash of fresh soda water.
