Classic Juicy Homemade Beef Burgers
These are the perfect cheesy beef burgers that taste better than anything you can get at a restaurant.
dailyrecipesbook.comThere is nothing quite like biting into a thick, juicy burger made right in your own kitchen. I love making these on busy weeknights or for weekend cookouts because they are always a crowd favorite and come together in no time.
My secret for the best texture is to handle the meat as little as possible while you form the patties. If you want an extra boost of flavor, feel free to brush the outside of the patties with a little bit of Worcestershire sauce before they hit the pan.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef, preferably 80/20 fat content
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 burger buns
- Lettuce, tomato, and onion slices for serving
- 2 tablespoons butter for toasting buns
Instructions
- 1
Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and gently shape them into patties that are slightly wider than your burger buns.
- 2
Create a small indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to help them cook evenly.
- 3
Season both sides of the patties generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- 4
Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium high heat.
- 5
Cook the patties for about 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium doneness.
- 6
Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover the pan to let the cheese melt.
- 7
While the meat rests, butter your buns and toast them in a separate pan until they are golden brown.
- 8
Assemble your burgers with the fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion before serving.
๐ก Tips
Serve these with your favorite potato chips or a crisp side salad to round out the meal. If you have leftovers, keep the patties in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days and reheat them in a skillet over low heat.
