If you love a good cheesesteak sandwich, you are going to adore this pasta version. It takes all those favorite toppings like seared steak, sweet onions, and peppers and tosses them with pillowy cheese tortellini in a rich, cheesy cream sauce.

This meal is perfect for when you want something extra cozy for dinner. It comes together quickly, so it is a great choice for busy weeknights when you still want a hearty, homemade meal that feels special.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound cheese tortellini
  • 1 pound sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 yellow onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the tortellini according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.

  3. 3

Add the sliced steak to the skillet and cook until browned. Remove the steak from the pan and set it aside on a plate.

  4. 4

In the same skillet, add the onions, peppers, and mushrooms. Cook until they are soft and golden brown, then stir in the garlic for one minute.

  5. 5

Lower the heat to medium and pour in the heavy cream and Worcestershire sauce. Let it simmer for a few minutes until it begins to thicken slightly.

  6. 6

Stir in the provolone and parmesan cheeses until the sauce is smooth and melted.

  7. 7

Add the cooked steak and the cooked tortellini into the skillet. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated and heated through.

  8. 8

Season with salt and pepper before serving warm.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. If the sauce thickens too much while reheating, just add a tiny splash of milk or water to bring back that creamy texture.
