Simple Microwave Mug Brownie
A warm, gooey chocolate treat that is ready in just a few minutes whenever you need a quick dessert.
When you are studying late and need a little something sweet, this mug brownie is a total lifesaver. It is quick to make and uses basic pantry staples you likely already have on hand.
I love how you can customize this by adding a pinch of salt or a few extra chocolate chips on top. It is the perfect portion for one person when the craving hits.
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 4 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon chocolate chips
Instructions
- 1
Combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt in a large microwave safe mug.
- 2
Stir in the milk and vegetable oil until the batter is smooth and no dry patches remain.
- 3
Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top of the batter.
- 4
Microwave on high for about 90 seconds. The center should look set but still slightly moist.
- 5
Let it cool for at least two minutes before eating so the center firms up and you do not burn your tongue.
๐ก Tips
Serve this with a tiny scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream on top. If you have leftovers, cover the mug tightly with plastic wrap and store it at room temperature for up to one day.
